Wynyard Medical Centre is supported by a dedicated and friendly administration and reception team who play a vital role in the smooth running of the practice.
The reception team is responsible for welcoming and assisting patients upon arrival, creating a positive and supportive first impression of the practice. Their duties include managing and coordinating appointment schedules, answering phone enquiries, booking appointments, processing patient accounts and payments, and handling Medicare and private billing. They also assist with patient registrations, updating medical records, managing correspondence, scanning and filing documents, and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
In addition, the administration staff work closely with the doctors and Practice Nurses to support the coordination of chronic disease management clinics and other specialised services. This includes contacting patients, scheduling and confirming appointments, managing recalls and reminders, and helping to ensure clinics run efficiently so patients receive timely and appropriate care.
The team also assists with a range of general practice operations, such as managing incoming and outgoing communications, organising referrals, liaising with external health providers, supporting accreditation requirements, and assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks as needed to keep the practice running smoothly.
The administration staff are led by Samantha Scholte (Office Administration In-Charge). Her team includes Trista Redman (Senior Receptionist), Kaitlyn Hind (Senior Receptionist), Amy Witt, Tully Waston, Rachel Mclaren, and Samara Spiteri, all of whom contribute to providing a welcoming, organised, and patient-focused environment.
